2026 Center-fire Benchrest Program
Hunter Benchrest (HBR)
Our club matches are based on NBRSA Hunter Benchrest rules.
The monthly matches consist of five timed relays of 7 minutes each to score a maximum of 50 points with 5 shots total for each relay at 100 yards. Best-edge scoring with center ring worth 10 points and the center dot worth an “x”. Unlimited sighters. The matches are conducted at 100 yards. We run a warm up relay prior to the five timed relays.
To qualify for Hunter Class your rifle must weigh 10 pounds or less, have a fore-end no wider than 2 ¼”, and have a 6-power scope.
Matches start at 9:00 AM sharp and planned to finish about 11:30, please arrive no later than 8:30 if you intend to shoot.
We’ll hold one match per month April through September. For club members, your best 4 scores will count toward a season end award to the shooter with the highest score. Monthly awards are given for any competitor “staying clean” by shooting a 250 score as well as a match winner certificate each month going to either club members or guests.
Cost per match is $15 for members; $20 for each guest shooter.
Varmint for Score (VFS)
Varmint for Score follows the same match structure in terms of scoring, timing of relays and uses the same target card as used for Hunter Benchrest. We are basing these matches also on the NBRSA rules for VFS.
Equipment for VFS differs in that the rifle weight allowance is up to 13.5 lbs. with a maximum fore-end width of 3 inches. There is no limitation on scope magnification. Please check out the NBRSA rules for more details.
We are planning to run our VFS matches the same day as Hunter Benchrest with VFS starting at 12:30. Similar to the HBR program, there will be monthly awards for the top competitor each month and a season/league award to the top club participant.
Cost per match is $10 for members; $15 for each guest competitor.
